La Cantine du Voyage
The place to be on sunny days
April 18th — October 6th 2024

This fun and lively restaurant was created for the 2013 edition of Le Voyage, and is now on the menu every summer.

Like a holiday resort for locals – and a fun, social and ephemeral space for the visitors who discover it – La Cantine du Voyage has become an essential stop, with its restaurant and bar.

La Cantine was colourfully decorated by Nantes-based collective Appelle-moi papa, which also designed the all-ages playground La Colline: a hilly playscape that looks like it’s straight out of one of their drawings! Its round and generous forms make it a whimsical, technicolor land where you can climb, roll around, slide, play, lay around — and more!

Le Potager de la Cantine (the Cantine’s vegetable garden) has reinvented urban farming in Nantes. At the origin of its design, maintenance, and harvests is Olivier Durand – a household name to the greatest chefs. Le Potager is home to Lilian Bourgeat’s work Invendus-Bottes: a humorous, allegorical vision of a market gardener who left one of their working tools behind.
