The title of this exhibition (“The One-Straw Revolution”) refers to the eponymous book by Masanobu Fukuoka: a Japanese microbiologist turned farmer and theorist of his own natural farming method based on simplicity and permanence.
The title echoes the four artists’ – and winners of Nantes’ Visual Arts Prize – political and ecological stance, magnifying the nuance, subtlety, and marginality in their work, through this “one straw”, tossed into the cogs of a society in crisis.
