Place Graslin
Spectacula
Aurélien Bory

As an artist who uses illusion and magic, Aurélien Bory has always been fascinated by the way darkness allows light to reveal itself. Bory’s installation for the Théâtre Graslin uses nothing but the theatre’s seats and lights them up individually.

Visitors climb on stage and watch the “spectacle” take place in the auditorium. The light installation has no end or beginning and follows a process where all of the seats are lit up, and then turned off according to different programmes. Breathtaking.
