Pont Caffino

Leisure centre in the heart of the Nantes vineyards.

The lofty setting of Pont Caffino is surrounded by steep cliffs, and covered with grapevines on the Maisdon-sur-Sèvre side. On the other side, a church and Château-Thébaud town hall overlook the canyon-like landscape.

Pont Caffino – whose name comes from the word caffine (i.e., a quarry) – has had several lives: first a flour mill, then a quarry whose stone was used to make cobblestones for Nantes’ streets, which were shipped up the Maine River.

Today, Pont Caffino offers many outdoor activities for all to enjoy. (depending on the season: zip line, climbing, canoe, kayak, paddleboarding, archery, etc.).
