Pasto-réalisme d’Asie centrale is a series of photos by Amelia Veitch, and the result of her immersive ethnographic research in Tepke, Kyrgyzstan.
These photographs document the evolution of pastoral life there, through the different crises and regime changes the country has undergone. The artist invites us to observe the relationships between humans and animals in this highly masculine environment, where identity is being reconstructed in the post-Soviet era.
