Bernard Dejonghe shows us his ceramic and glass works, but also his sources of inspiration, the gestures he repeats and the sophisticated techniques he uses in his workshop. Bernard Dejonghe is a sculptor. Through fusion, he gives form to a modern material such as solid glass. Through his mastery of fire, he fires his ceramic works in a traditional Japanese kiln. Therein lies the originality of his approach. Whatever their materials, his works have the same origin in his knowledge of minerals and their transformation by fire. His plastic language is a reflection, a look at the phenomena of nature.

The colours and brilliance of the ceramics, the transparency of the glass, the pure or uneven lines echo the whiteness of the Villa. They speak to us of distant lands, of the light that dazzles and of the forms created by fire, wind or water….
