In 1976, Robert Doisneau was commissioned for a project: to create the diary of an ideal trip he had never yet taken.
The photographer welcomed this offer as a “wonderful bit of serendipity” and simply chose the Loire – the mere mention of which stirred up images of vacationing. Thought 50 photos – from the source to the estuary – this exhibition invites us to relive Doisneau’s journey, with all its beauty, poetry, and his particular tenderness for everyday life.
