From Nantes to Clisson, the route follows a section of the V\u00e9lid\u00e9ale<\/em> cycle route connecting Lac de Vassivi\u00e8re in the Limousin region to Saint-Nazaire, via Clisson, Vertou, and Nantes.
\nFor the adventurous, the Nantes > Clisson section of this route (35 km) is the chance to discover charming wine-growing villages such as P\u00e9 de S\u00e8vre and Port Domino. For a shorter ride, the towpath between Nantes and Vertou, along the banks of the S\u00e8vre, is a relaxing outing and a great way to reach Ch\u00e2teau de la Fr\u00e9moire.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\t<\/div><\/section>\n\t

\nStarting from Nantes\u2019 H\u00f4tel-Dieu skatepark, head out to the region\u2019s vineyards by following the Nantes Sud\/Rez\u00e9 signposts. Along the same road \u2013 or almost \u2013 let the tram lead the way. Cross over the Loire to Rez\u00e9 Pirmil, then turn left where the S\u00e8vre Nantaise will become your new travel companion. Ride past hikers, joggers, Nordic walkers, and Highland cows…and, of course, other cyclists. Leave the noise of the city behind as you discover Vertou via the Chauss\u00e9e des Moines footbridge built by monks circa the year 1000. And in Vertou, a sign will let you know you\u2019re 1,500 km (932 miles) from Santiago de Compostela. But that\u2019s another story \u2013 and another voyage…<\/p>\n
