Martine Feipel and Jean Bechameil create installations that blend illusion, imagination, instabi- lity and the irrational within the gridlocked and controlled spaces of our contemporary world.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

For Place Cl\u00e9mence-Lefeuvre they have created a sculpture that plays with the neighbourhood\u2019s vertical rhythms and architectural layout. Using ceramics and concrete, its geometrical and colourful composition acts like a volume painting within this space. Influenced by the legacy of Brutalist architecture, the two artists chose to use exposed concrete in the tradition of Le Corbusier \u2014 who celebrated its \u201cwild, natural and primitive\u201d qualities \u2014 along with a precious material: enameled lava stone.
The sculptures are equipped with ovens, where locals occasionally come together to cook over an open, wood-burning fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<\/div><\/section>\n\t
