His work reflects our complex society and the universal questions of meaning and mortality resonating within it.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Over the past 20 years, he has created many monumental \u201csensory\u201d installations, in which he evokes what he describes as \u201cvisual fictions\u201d: deserted, tactile spaces, like an empty sound stage, that the viewer can walk through or sit in \u2013 in a word, a sculpted haven for introspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Graslin, he shows <em>Parade<\/em> (created in 2012): a video installation fusing moving images, sound, and space, projected directly onto the stage. Here, a slow-motion stream of pedestrians walk through a street. This parade of the most diverse characters can be seen as a rather banal event \u2013 but also as a fundamental, visual reflection on life and death. Music and image enter into a unique dialogue in this poetic, insightful, and very moving video.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<\/div><\/section>\n\t<section class=\"VAN22_NOTE VAN22_BG_gris\"><div class=\"VAN22_LIMIT_SECTION\"><p>Hans Op de Beeck was born in 1969 in Turnhout (Belgium). He lives and works in Brussels.
