{"id":4775,"date":"2015-05-28T10:44:24","date_gmt":"2015-05-28T08:44:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.levoyageanantes.fr\/oeuvres\/le-pendule-2\/"},"modified":"2025-04-04T16:16:50","modified_gmt":"2025-04-04T14:16:50","slug":"le-pendule","status":"publish","type":"oeuvre","link":"https:\/\/www.levoyageanantes.fr\/en\/artworks\/le-pendule\/","title":{"rendered":"Le Pendule"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"VAN22_CHAPEAU\"><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For Roman Signer, an artist fascinated by the power of nature (storms, winds, volcanoes, gales&#8230;) and known all over the world for his explosive performances, the plant \u2014 built in the late 1960s and now unused \u2014 is endowed with many qualities: proximity to the river, complex mechanics, and the ability to transform matter. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The great Swiss artist wished to reveal these qualities with his minimalist structure: a 7-metre (25-foot) long pendulum hanging off the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This object regularly and inexorably stamps out time and signals the building\u2019s slow decline. It creates a rhythm for the never-ending flow of the river, with its violent and calm power.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\t<\/div><\/section>\n\t<section class=\" VAN22_BG_rose\"><div class=\"VAN22_LIMIT_SECTION VAN22_FOCUS\" style=\"text-align:center;\"><p>In Trentemoult, the quay near Roman Signer\u2019s <em>Le Pendule<\/em> is undergoing construction to welcome future Navibus passengers. This is a wonderful opportunity for this piece in the Estuaire collection \u2013 which, after a temporary closure for the duration of the public works (between late March and late September 2025) \u2013 to become even more visible from land for both residents and visitors.
