And yet, his creations are firmly anchored in the reality of contemporary representation. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Humorously playing with time and space in his work, Le Deunff imagined a \u201ctotem\u201d animal for the&nbsp;Porte Sauvetout&nbsp;relic during the 2021 edition of Le&nbsp;Voyage \u00e0 Nantes:&nbsp;a beaver with a fish tail, inspired by a medieval medical book.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This&nbsp;Poisson Castor&nbsp;(i.e., \u201cBeaver Fish\u201d) now lives in the archaeological vestige of Porte Saint-Pierre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Porte Saint-Pierre has been a witness to Nantes\u2019 history, making it one of the city\u2019s major monuments, both for its location in the historic center and the amount of heritage and archaeological elements concentrated in and around it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For this urban vestige, Le Deunff has written a fable. Through this anachronistic bronze figure with its silver tail \u2013 itself a fictitious representation taken from popular belief \u2013 the artist propels the animal into another time frame, an incongruous, anachronistic scenario \u2013 and us along with it!<\/p>\n\n\n\t<\/div><\/section>\n\t<section class=\"VAN22_NOTE VAN22_BG_gris\"><div class=\"VAN22_LIMIT_SECTION\"><p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Laurent Le Deunff was born in 1977.
