The artist draws her inspiration from objects and art history, combining them in her inventive compositions. Her oil paintings bring together nude women with graceful, white, almost transparent bodies, sensually bathed in colour and light, existing in natural landscapes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Sanam Khatibi was invited to create a permanent work to accompany the transformation of La Persagoti\u00e8re. The landscape of the site, on the banks of the S\u00e8vre, echoes the surreal natural backdrops of her paintings, with the river, the rocks, the leaves on the ground, the light, the ruins of an old stone wall and the path beneath the centuries-old plane trees whose canopy of vegetation recalls the intricate architecture of Gothic cathedrals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The giant stone statue installed by the artist is her way of emphasizing the timeless nature of the site.<br>The impressive sculpture made from volcanic peperino stone peppered with black quartz, represents a five-metre-high, naked giantess whose feet seem rooted to the ground. Standing tall like a caryatid, she appears to rise from the water and the land. The surrounding garden accentuates the protective and mysterious nature of her presence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\t<\/div><\/section>\n\t<section class=\"VAN22_NOTE VAN22_BG_gris\"><div class=\"VAN22_LIMIT_SECTION\"><p>Sanam Khatibi lives and works in Brussels (Belgium).
