Thanks to this audacious acquisition policy and persistent curiosity for the art of its time, the collection offers a broad overview of art, from old masters to contemporary art, via the 19<sup>th<\/sup> century and modern art. renovated and extended as part of an extraordinary project awarded to British architect firm Stanton Williams in 2009. The extension, heritage restoration and modernisation project involved three buildings: the Chapelle de l\u2019Oratoire (17th century), the Palais (19th century) and the Cube, a new 2,000 m2 contemporary art space.
