For its first temporary exhibition, the Mus\u00e9e Dobr\u00e9e has chosen a powerful, original, and deeply human subject: the heart \u2013 from the organ to the symbol.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Exploring both the anatomical history of the organ and the story of a loving heart, the exhibition presents works from all historical periods and horizons. Everyone is invited to rediscover this familiar organ through a new lens, via a dialogue between the museum\u2019s newly restored collections and exceptional loans from national institutions and private collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<\/div><\/section>\n\t

Exhibition curators:
\nJulie Pellegrin, chief curator, director of the Dobr\u00e9e Museum and Grand Patrimoine de Loire-Atlantique.
\nYann Lignereux, professor of modern history at the University of Nantes. Yann Lignereux is a certified history teacher and member of the Centre for Research in International and Atlantic History (CRHIA).
\nA specialist in modern political cultures and practices, he has worked in particular on the royal imagination in France and on the challenges of representing power (iconography and diplomacy) from the late 15th century to the early 18th century.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\t
