Jean Prouv\u00e9, heritage that serves the architecture of tomorrow<\/strong><\/p>\n

The recent \u201cdiscovery\u201d of a public primary school designed by Les Ateliers Jean Prouv\u00e9 in a tiny town in Le Morbihan, is the starting point for this exhibition at La Maison de l\u2019architecture des Pays de la Loire. It pays tribute to major figure of 20th-century architecture and design, Jean Prouv\u00e9 (1901 – 1984).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Devoid of quaint features or anecdotal details, his buildings and furniture still remain a source of inspiration for many architects and designers today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through a collection of rare archives and objects, this exhibition traces the history of the Kerglaw school complex in Inzinzac-Lochrist, highlighting the prominent role schools played in Prouv\u00e9\u2019s vast body of work. These school buildings demonstrate brand-new construction principles characterized by industrialization, prefabrication, and resource efficiency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition is also an opportunity to discover Prouv\u00e9\u2019s projects in the Pays de la Loire region. Some were never built, and many have disappeared, while others \u2013 which have been preserved \u2013 merit even more attention, given their architectural or technical importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\t
