In an imaginary future, a beautiful yet terrifying blue forest has taken over the landscape – right above a burial site for radioactive materials…
Part-documentary and part-fiction, the exhibition Demi-vie propels visitors several thousand years into the future. Author Aram Kebabdjian and artist Stéfane Perraud explore our reality and project an image of the nuclear age through archival documents, a video of a landfill site, mysterious sculptures and a virtual reality installation called Zone bleue (“Blue Zone”).
In the exhibition, we encounter an underground tunnel that has been bored by machines, archaic architecture from a vanished civilization... These temporalities come together to form a fascinating, dizzying loop.
At a time when humanity is starting to wonder about the fate of its nuclear ruins, Demi-vie offers a disquieting voyage through landscapes onto which atomic experimentation has left its mark.
A series of conferences will be held in parallel to this exhibition. Detailed agenda: www.lelieuunique.com
