Hôtel de Ville Gardens
Cours à travers
Pierre-Alexandre Rémy

Five stoneware ceramics, enamelled in bleu de Sèvres, dialogue with the curved metal lines that try to break free from gravity’s pull. All along its 15 metres, the sculpture sits among the partitions of the garden’s tree-lined walkways.

Cours à travers is becoming a permanent fixture in the gardens of Nantes’ Hôtel de Ville (city hall), creating a counterpoint to the rigorous perspectives of this French-style garden that dates back to the first half of the 18th century.
